Clarity Over Chaos: Arrow Preparatory Academy’s Website Refresh

The Background

Arrow Preparatory Academy is a school with a lot to offer prospective families — but their website wasn’t reflecting that. Outdated, inconsistent, and hard to navigate, the site was quietly costing them something they couldn’t afford to lose: prospective students. They needed a website that worked as a real enrollment tool, not just a digital placeholder.

The Challenge

Arrow Prep’s website had grown without a plan, and it showed. A few issues were undermining the experience for every visitor who landed on it:

No consistency, page to page. Each page had been built independently, resulting in a site that felt disjointed and unprofessional. Different grade levels presented information in different formats — or left it out entirely — making it nearly impossible for families to compare or get a full picture.

Broken links and missing information. Critical details that families rely on when choosing a school simply weren’t there. Broken links added to the frustration, sending visitors to dead ends instead of answers.

No clear path forward. Without logical site navigation or well-placed calls to action, visitors didn’t know where to go next. Families interested in enrolling couldn’t find the information they needed, and potential students were slipping through the cracks as a result.

A tight budget. Like many schools and nonprofits, Arrow Prep was working with very limited resources. A ground-up rebuild wasn’t on the table — the solution had to be smart, efficient, and cost-effective.

The Approach

With a small budget and a big impact goal, every decision had to count. The first step was research — studying how similar schools present themselves online and identifying what makes a school website feel trustworthy, welcoming, and easy to navigate. That competitive research shaped the entire project and ensured the final product would look professional and feel right for the audience: families making an important decision about their child’s education.

Rather than migrating to a new platform and starting over, we made the strategic decision to stay on Weebly and work within the existing theme. This saved significant time and cost while still allowing for meaningful improvements. The focus shifted to what would have the biggest impact: structure first, content second.

Reworking the site map and menu was first to create a logical flow that guided families naturally from curiosity to contact. From there, a consistent page layout — with a unified header and shared structure — was developed and applied it across every page of the site. Refreshed photography, modernized design choices within Weebly’s framework, and a friendly, approachable tone brought the whole experience together.

The Solution

Restructured navigation and site map. We reorganized the menu and information architecture so families could find what they were looking for quickly and intuitively — no more dead ends or guesswork.

Consistent page layout throughout. A single, reusable page template with a consistent header was applied across the entire site, replacing the patchwork of mismatched designs with a cohesive, professional look.

Standardized content across grade levels. We audited and rewrote content so that every grade level page provided the same types of information in the same format — giving families an apples-to-apples experience no matter where they landed.

Refreshed photography. Updated visuals gave the site a more modern, welcoming feel that better represented the school and resonated with prospective families.

Clear calls to action. Strategic CTAs were added throughout the site to guide visitors toward the next step — whether that was learning more, attending an event, or starting the enrollment process.

A modernized design within budget. By working within Weebly and the existing theme, we maximized the available design options to create a cleaner, more current look without the cost of a full platform migration.

Staff training and handoff. We trained Arrow Prep’s team on how to handle routine content updates independently, so the site could stay current without ongoing outside support.

The Results

The impact was immediate. As soon as the updated site launched, Arrow Prep reported that families were finally finding the information they needed — and interest in the school increased noticeably. What had been a source of confusion and missed opportunities became a functional enrollment tool that works around the clock.

  • Families can now easily find consistent, complete information about every grade level
  • Clear navigation and calls to action guide prospective students through the enrollment journey
  • A professional, cohesive design builds trust with families from the first visit
  • Staff can confidently manage routine updates without outside help
  • All of this was achieved within a tight nonprofit budget by working smart within the existing platform

What This Project Demonstrates

Arrow Prep is proof that a limited budget doesn’t have to mean limited results. By staying on the existing platform, prioritizing structure over aesthetics, and letting research guide every decision, the site went from a source of confusion to a genuine enrollment tool — without a ground-up rebuild. Sometimes the smartest move is knowing exactly where to focus, and doing that well.
